Location: Springfield, Missouri
Owner: OakStar Bank
The OakStar Bank building, like no other in the greater Springfield area, consists of three stories and 28,000 square ft. of first-rate banking facility. The exterior is largely glass with cast stone accents. The lobby features coved ceilings, cherry trim, stainless steel accents and a three-story atrium rising to a glass clerestory. The ground floor primarily takes care of the day-to-day banking operations. The second floor is devoted to training, administrative offices, and meeting rooms, while the third floor will be utilized in the future. The bank lobby differs dramatically from the standard image of a row of teller windows. It’s far more similar to a hotel lobby, with a receptionist/concierge station, ‘dialogue’ pods, where the customers can access their accounts on self-serve, flat-panel displays, and automatic cash-dispensing stations. The customers also have access to the Internet café, lounge-type seating, and a large fireplace.
