The project was commenced in August 1995 on a "fast track" basis and its unique design, as well as location, presented a series of challenges for Killian Construction, as well as the Architect. The multi-tiered lower segments of the building and parking garage necessitated the need for the removal of an entire rock mountain top, down to varying elevations, some as deep as 60 feet below the original grade. Over 160,000 pounds of dynamite was used to accomplish this.
