Killian Group of Companies

The Killian Group of Companies is very proud of our safety record. During the last three years, Killian has recorded only one lost workday. To accomplish this, our Safety Director has established a variety of training programs. Among them are:

Hazard Recognition and Prevention
Lock Out and Tag Out
Fire Protection and Prevention
Scaffold Safety & Fall Protection

These are just a few of the safety training programs implemented by The Killian Group of Companies. Safety articles are also featured in our bi-monthly company newsletter to help keep everyone aware of safety issues. In addition, our web site will soon include a secured page that can be accessed by Killian personnel, which will showcase particular safety related articles and training exercises. This new web page is another way that The Killian Group of Companies utilizes technology and the resources available to enhance our safety program and education of our staff.

In addition, our Safety Director recently completed training that now designates him as a Certified Safety and Health Specialist. This is another example of The Killian Group's pro-active involvement to promote safety throughout our entire organization.

STEP Award
Presented by The Associated Builders and Contractors for Killian's ongoing efforts to continually improve our safety programs. This award was first received by the company in 1995 and then again in 1998, 1999 and 2000 at the "Gold" level of achievement.

The "Platinum" level S.T.E.P. award has been received in recognition every year since 2000. The Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors. This program provides an organized approach to analyze and further develop a company?s safety and loss prevention programs, an objective method to measure safety program improvements and provides our companies with valuable safety performance recognition that can be used as an important business development tool with clients.

In addition to receiving award recognition, Platinum members also receive recognition in ABC Today, a publication reaching over 25,000 construction companies and affiliated industries as well as entry in the 2001 ABC National Safety Awards competition.
