The facility includes a clubhouse of approximately 60,000 square ft., housing offices, locker rooms, and training facilities.  It is also home to the Springfield Cardinals, the Double-A Texas League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Missouri State University Bears. The unique stadium, with fourteen entry gates, has over 6,000 linear feet of gleaming stainless-steel railing, and 160 lights on hundred-foot light poles bathe the playing field with over 240,000 watts of power.  Along the 3rd-base side of the stadium, a four-story building houses the 8,000 square ft. commercial kitchen and a large concession area for the berm seating area.

Hammons Field has one of the nation's largest electronic scoreboards and JumboTrons in the country, providing replays, between-inning entertainment, score displays, and Major League recaps. Atop this screen are the flags of all Texas League teams and their standings as of game day. Hammons Field also celebrates major league All-Star games, projecting the game on the largest plasma screen television in Springfield. The complex was designed by Pellham Phillips Architects and Engineers, and named one of the nation's most beautiful minor league stadiums. Since the Springfield Cardinals moved to Springfield in 2005, their fan attendance rate has risen to one of the league's highest.
